On Tuesday November 6, 2018, Asharqia Chamber held the monthly meeting for businesswomen at the headquarter of the Chamber.

The meeting was attended by two members of the Board of Directors of the Chamber, Anoud Bint Tawfiq Al-Ramah, and Nouf Bint Abdulaziz Al-Turki.

The Director of women's Riyadah, Afnan Bint Asaad AlBabtain, explained that Saudi women own 12 percent of the number of registered projects according to the index of entrepreneurship.

She noted that since 2016 and to 2017, there is a rise in the number of enterprises owned by women in the United States by 45 percent, and in the United Arab Emirates by 30 percent of small projects compared to Saudi women, who do not exceed 18 percent.

During the meeting, Al-Babtain highlighted a number of challenges faced by Saudi women in business that include lack of leadership in various fields, lack of awareness of opportunities to develop entrepreneurial skills, lack of access to finance and investors, as well as lack of Saudi women investors.

On the support of projects, Al-Babtain said that the lack of incubators and business accelerators in the different regions is another challenge to add to the faltering business facilitation, which is the difficulty of some requirements for women's projects.

She pointed out that the leadership of women aims to spread the culture of entrepreneurship among the sovereigns, increase the number of commercial records owned by them, increase the survival of women's projects in the market, and improve the mental image of Saudi women entrepreneurs globally.

Al-Babtain said that the program aims at monitoring the challenges faced by women in the establishment of projects, focusing on the legal aspect and regulatory procedures in order to facilitate the process of establishment and selection of the legal entity appropriate to the quality of the proposed activity, by monitoring challenges, analyzing and proposing solutions, and also monitoring the impact of proposed solutions after their application.

The meeting also talked about the objectives of the Women's Network in Business, which is to build an electronic network that is to link businesswomen, allow exchange of experiences, and create an attractive and interactive environment for business leaders, experts, guides and interested parties.

In conclusion, the guest speaker was honored with a commemorative shield.
